Preceptorships

Let’s Learn together
Let’s Investigate the latest findings
Let’s Work to beat cancer

The Boehringer Ingelheim Preceptorship programme aims to bring oncologists together for a two- to three-day long meeting, to discuss the latest advancements in the management and treatment of cancer patients. Boehringer Ingelheim provide selected oncology societies and Centers of Excellence (CoE) with an unrestricted educational grant/financial support, with the belief that all parties can benefit from the Preceptorship series.

Each Preceptorship is tightly focused on the state-of-the-art for the specialty of interest, where content of these independent meetings is of course dictated by the organisers. Participants learn about best clinical practice and the treatments of tomorrow, from recognised scientific experts. Typically, case studies are used to explore the staging, treatment, and surgery of cancers.
Participants also hear updates from the latest clinical trials and international oncology conferences, and how these affect best practice. The meeting also provides the opportunity to network with peers, and to see first-hand how CoEs live up to the name. Participant feedback for the Boehringer Ingelheim Preceptorship series is extremely positive.

Medical Education is a cornerstone of the Boehringer Ingelheim ethos. As Boehringer Ingelheim expand their areas of expertise and interest beyond lung cancer, the aim is to support societies or COEs that share areas of interest to deliver Preceptorships, in order to build or strengthen relationships with the scientific experts of today, and of tomorrow.
